             Starship development history 

                         Interplanetary Spaceship design concept, 2016 (with nine Raptor engines)

The SpaceX Starship system is a fully-reusable, two-stage-to-orbit, super heavy-lift launch vehicle^[2] under development by SpaceX since 2012, as a self-funded private spaceflight project.It is designed to be a long-duration cargo and, eventually, passenger-carrying spacecraft.

While the Starship program had only a small development team during the early years, and a larger development and build team since late 2018, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk made Starship the top SpaceX development priority following the first human spaceflight launch of Crew Dragon in May 2020, except for anything related to reduction of crew return risk.

                                                            Starship SN11

SN11 was moved to Suborbital Pad B on 8 March 2021 to begin its testing campaign. On 12 March 2021, SN11 successfully underwent a cryogenic proof test also including testing of the RCS (Reaction Control System). On 15 March 2021, SN11 attempted a static fire test. However, just immediately after ignition of the Raptor engines, the test was aborted. Another static fire attempt is currently scheduled no earlier than 22 March 2021 with a possible flight test to follow on 24 March 2021.
